The Need for INCLUSION BY

DESIGN

A key aspect of the change management function of modern day companies is the extent to which Inclusion, needs to be “by Design”- a key element in every process and a consideration for every new initiative.

Applying design-thinking to the engagement or employment lifecycle on behalf of diverse races, genders, abilities, and ages is essential to diagnosing and anticipating factors working against inclusion.

Redesign organizational processes to prevent biased choices from the start.

What is not measured cannot be fixed.

INCLUSION BY DESIGN COMPONENTS

  • The application of inclusion-centered design thinking to processes  and the whole of the employee experience.

  • The collection, tracking and analysis of data (including feedback) to find and evaluate patterns in order to identify and address inclusion issues.

  • Iterative experimentation to adjust and refine your inclusion program.

  • Evaluation of processes and procedures to minimize and mitigate for unconscious or procedural bias.

  • Ensuring that networks, resources, mentors, sponsors are in place  and all lines of communication are open.
